Morsen was contracted by Siemens Healthineers to project manage this complete turnkey project, which involved swapping over the St George Private MRI. Morsen organised structural engineering for the existing building to support a larger 3T magnet – 1.2 tonne heavier than the existing 6 tonne magnet. We organised and coordinated: the decommission of the existing MRI, opening the side of the hospital’s building facade, crane movements for swapping over the magnets, mechanical upgrades, associated building works, RF cage upgrade work and electrical upgrades to AS3003/2018 Body Protect. Our work continued right through to the mechanical installation of the new Siemens MRI.

This entire project was on a compressed schedule. Undertaken with shift work, it was completed in 14 days.
